Aurelia "Mama" Johnson drew with colorful felt-tip markers. Her forms were simply outlined and filled with unending circles that spiral and overlap. The lines continue beyond the forms, across the paper to go nowhere and everywhere. Without attention to traditional technique Mama Johnson created and explored a world of her own, of "Missionary Girls Out to Do Good" and "Aliestos," her term for aliens.
